72. A Bright Future vs. A Bleak Future

The following is my commentary and opinion.

A Bright Future only under Capitalism and Freedom

Capitalism and Freedom encourages happy dreams and the anticipation of a beautiful, bright, productive, rational, happy future – based on one’s own hard work, productivity, self-responsibility, use of reason, individual freedom, economic freedom, and one’s pursuit of individual-personal happiness – all happening within a social-political system based on individual freedom, economic freedom, recognition of individual rights, where all property is privately owned – i.e., all happening within the social-political-economic system of Capitalism.

Capitalism represents Reality and Reason.

Capitalism represents Freedom and Rights.

For a great discussion regarding the relationship between mysticism and force, and why they are fundamentals to Statism – and why reason and freedom are the fundamentals of Capitalism - please see Ayn Rand’s essay “Faith and Force: the Destroyers of the Modern World” from the book Philosophy: Who Needs It, Chapter 7, p. 70 (Bobbs-Merrill Co. 1982).

A Bleak Future only under Statism and Force

Statism and Force encourages nightmares and the dread of an ugly, dark, destitute, mystical, bleak future – forced upon by the regulation, control, and tyranny of the state (government or ruling group).

Statism represents Mysticism (Faith) and Irrationalism.

Statism represents Force and Control.
